Testimonials

Kellie's Story (2021 Program)

Kellie joined us after taking a career break to have a family. She has two young children who are now in Kindy and school and had no idea what she wanted to do or how to apply for a job. She did remember that as a child she really wanted to be a teacher.

During our program, through the supportive environment and being surrounded by women who believed in her, she started to grow in confidence. She transformed from someone lacking confidence and feeling like a failure with nothing to offer, to a confident and capable woman with so many gifts and skills to offer. She had the confidence to approach the principal of a nearby school, use her elevator pitch, and successfully line up work experience as a teacher aide. The Principal and school loved her so much that she has now been offered, paid work as a teacher aide.

From Kellie:

“Before starting this program I was stuck in a rut and didn’t know who I was anymore or what I wanted to do for a job. Over the past 12 weeks I can’t believe how much I have grown. All the tools you have given me has made me into a confident woman again. I remember filling out my success plan on the first day and writing down my answer to the question ‘by the end of this program, I will know I was successful because…I would finish the certificate, get to know who I am again and follow my dream career.’ WOW! I can’ believe I’m sitting here 12 weeks later and feeling so much pride and accomplishment in myself all thanks to you and Life Communities. Thank you for your time, patience and support.”
